The “Oakley Mouthguard” is apparently to become the new NFL helmet to stem the spread of the coronavirus. While teams are now testing the helmet’s usefulness, Texans star J.J. Watt has a clear message.

According to “ESPN”, the helmet is to be sent to all 32 teams this week to test its usefulness and possible applications, so that the spread of COVID-19 can be contained during the coming season. So far there is no official NFL directive that this helmet must be worn.

“ProFootballTalk” reports that several players would categorically refuse to wear a mouthguard.

Texans star J.J. Watt is said to have said: “I tried a visor for the eyes once, because I thought it would look cool. After three training sessions I said, get this thing away from my eyes, or I’ll die out here. And now they want to do something around my mouth? No, leave it. If that happens, you won’t see me on the field.”
