Washington Commanders: Committee investigation confirms allegations against owner Dan Snyder

Dan Snyder allegedly obstructed the proceedings against Washington Commanders and the labour relations there with sometimes misleading statements. That’s according to the committee’s recently released report.

Munich – The House of Representatives Committee has published a 79-page report on the investigation of Washington Commanders and the working conditions there.

According to it, Commanders owner Dan Snyder “allegedly dodged questions by saying he didn’t know or couldn’t remember information over 100 times and even gave misleading answers in his testimony.”

Snyder had “allowed and participated” in the toxic working conditions in the Commanders organisation. He obstructed the 14-month congressional investigation with his conduct, evaded a subpoena, and allegedly discouraged and intimidated witnesses from cooperating, the report says.

“NFL knew and did nothing “

The committee also took the NFL to task. It alleged the league was complicit in Snyder’s wrongdoing by not cooperating with the congressional investigation and misappropriating an investigation into the franchise already led by Judge Beth Wilkinson in 2020-21. The findings of which were never fully made public.

“The NFL knew and did nothing,” Carolyn Maloney, who led the committee, is quoted as saying in the report. “The NFL decided to bury Judge Wilkinson’s findings and whitewash the misconduct that was uncovered,” it continues.

An NFL spokesperson contacted by “ESPN” indicated that the league had not yet looked at the report and had no comment. The Commanders were also keeping a low profile.
