The Green Bay Packers without quarterback Aaron Rodgers? For track and field legend Usain Bolt, that’s hard to imagine. He therefore makes an appeal to the playmaker.
The future of Aaron Rodgers is not only keeping the Green Bay Packers on tenterhooks. Now even sports celebrities are weighing in: The fastest man in the world is putting his weight behind keeping the quarterback in Green Bay.
“I would beg Aaron Rodgers to stay,” track legend Usain Bolt told Sports Illustrated.
Aaron Rodgers: Mega contract rejected?
The problem: The Packers have already “begged” him, if the report by Adam Schefter of “ESPN” is true. According to the report, Rodgers had a contract offer on the table that would have tied him up for five more years and made him the highest-paid playmaker in the league.
Rodgers, however, reportedly turned it down. A departure of the unhappy 37-year-old thus remains in the air, shortly before the start of the training camps.
For Bolt, the thought of the Packers entering the new season without Rodgers is hard to imagine. Especially since they strengthened their roster in the draft after going out in the Championship Game.
“Last year, we were very close, so close. This year, after the draft, we have a lot of good players and a lot of guys that stayed. Davante Adams and everybody else,” Bolt said.
And then even addressed Rodgers personally: “I want Aaron Rodgers to stay. Please stay! We need you!”
