Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Todd Bowles demands decision from Rob Gronkowski and Ndamukong Suh

Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles has demanded a decision from free agents Rob Gronkowski and Ndamukong Suh regarding a possible future with the Buccaneers.

Munich/Tampa – New Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach Todd Bowles apparently wants a decision from current free agents Rob Gronkowski and Ndamukong Suh regarding a possible future with the Buccaneers before the 2022 NFL Draft “Pro Football Talk” reports.

After the Buccaneers were able to create around nine million US dollars in cap space last week with the contract restructuring of quarterback Tom Brady, it now remains to be seen how the remaining free agents will be dealt with.

Decision on both free agents still open

Tight end Rob Gronkowski and defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh have yet to be re-signed and head coach Todd Bowles has now called for both to make a decision before the 2022 NFL Draft at the end of April.

Bowles said: “Right now there’s no decision in sight for either of them and I think that’s fine. We still have some things to take care of and then we’ll have to see what the draft brings. We would like to continue working with the two of them. “

Bucs could use reinforcements

Currently, the franchise has only two tight ends available in Cameron Brate and Codey McElroy, so another backup at the position seems inevitable. The Bucs also signed defensive tackle Deadrin Senat last week, but that would not preclude Suh from returning.

Only limited cap space could stand in the way of the planned return of last year’s starters. This past season, Gronkowski and Suh each signed one-year contracts worth eight and nine million U.S. dollars, respectively.

With the Bucs’ tight salary cap situation, it could either come down to another salary sacrifice by the two players or a decision against one or both former performers.
