Show of force! Green Bay Packers dismantle fearful Minnesota Vikings

The Green Bay Packers have no problems in their 37-10 win over the Minnesota Vikings. That puts head coach Matt LaFleur’s team out of contention for the top seed in the NFC.

Green Bay/Munich – Without Covid-listed Kirk Cousins, the Minnesota Vikings put on a disappointing, at times anxious, performance at the Green Bay Packers.

At minus 12 degrees in the icy Lambeau Field, the team around quarterback Aaron Rodgers had no problems, won unchallenged with 37:10 and thus secured the top seed in the NFC early.

The Packers now have a bye week in the first round of the playoffs and enjoy home field rights throughout the postseason.

Aaron Rodgers throws two touchdowns

Rodgers threw for 288 yards and two touchdowns. The Packers also impressed by running – running back A.J. Dillon (63 yards) scored two more touchdowns in a victory that was never in danger.

The Vikings relied on a very conservative play calling, backup quarterback Sean Mannion (22/36, 189 yards, 1 TD) threw many short passes from the start, running back Dalvin Cook (13 yards) never got into the game.

In total, Minnesota scored only 11 first downs, the Packers had 29.

Vikings now without a chance at the playoffs

The game was already decided at the break at 20:3, a 4-yard TD run by A.J. Dillon put the lid on the game early in the third quarter.

The Vikings’ playoff hopes have been dashed and head coach Mike Zimmer’s team is now 7-9 with no chance of making the postseason.

Finally, the Vikings play the Chicago Bears (6-10) next week. The Packers face the Detroit Lions (2-13-1).
