NFL: Washington Commanders restructure Deebo Samuels contract

The Washington Commanders restructure the contract of their new wide receiver and guarantee him the entire salary. He can also earn even more through bonuses.

With a renegotiated deal, Deebo Samuel’s salary with the Washington Commanders is fully guaranteed in the next NFL season, according to ESPN.

The wide receiver still has a one-year contract in the U.S. capital. The Commanders took over the final year of the contract from the 49ers in a trade in early March.

Now they are paying the 29-year-old $17 million, which is fully guaranteed. His previous salary in San Francisco of $16.6 million was not guaranteed. In addition, a further $3 million is possible through bonuses.

The Commanders gave up a fifth-round pick to the 49ers for the wide receiver.

Samuel was drafted by the 49ers in the second round in 2019. Since then, he has reached two Super Bowls with the team, was selected to the Pro Bowl and named First-Team All-Pro.
