NFL: Tom Brady apparently ends his career – advisor announces statement

Quarterback Tom Brady of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers ends his career. This was reported by “ESPN”. However, TB12’s advisor announced a statement.

Munich – After 22 years, quarterback Tom Brady is ending his NFL career. This was reported by “ESPN”.

However, an official statement is still pending. His advisor, Don Yee, said: “I understand the speculation. (…) Tom will accurately state his plans in the near future and he is the only person who should do that.”

Tom Brady Sr, Brady’s father, is also said to have come forward. He told “Kron4 News” that his son “hasn’t made a final decision yet.” Several reports also say that Brady has not yet informed the “Bucs” of his retirement. Whether Brady just wanted to make the announcement about his retirement himself or if he actually did not quit after all is not clear at this point.

Brady had said on his “Let’s Go” podcast earlier in the week, “We’ve had six straight months of football now, every day has been spent playing football. And I think now is the time for my family and for my kids first.”

About his wife Gisele Bündchen, who has been said to be hoping for Brady’s retirement for several years, Brady said : “She’s my biggest supporter. It hurts her to see me take a hit.”

Brady played 22 seasons in the NFL, was selected to the Pro Bowl 15 times and won seven Super Bowls. He will retire as the most successful player in NFL history and is the record holder in many illustrated categories.

With the equally loved and hated New England Patriots, Brady had built a title dynasty in 19 years after arriving as a pale sixth-round linnet. In 2020, he continued his career in warm Florida, where he won another Super Bowl at the first attempt with the Buccaneers and his old favourite companion Rob Gronkowski.

With the season still in progress, the 44-year-old led the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to the Divisional Round. Head coach Bruce Arians’ team lost 27:30 against the Los Angeles Rams. In his last NFL season, Brady threw for 5,316 yards, 43 touchdowns and only 12 interceptions. There’s no sign of ageism.
