NFL: Rodgers snatches Favre’s touchdown record

Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers has surpassed football legend Brett Favre’s franchise record with his 443rd touchdown in the NFL.

Cologne (SID) – Star quarterback Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers has surpassed the franchise record of football legend Brett Favre with his 443rd touchdown in the US professional league NFL. The exceptional player made three successful throws into the end zone in the 24-22 win over the Cleveland Browns on Christmas Day and now has a total of 445 touchdowns in his Packers career.

The 38-year-old is in captivating form: Rodgers has thrown 16 touchdowns without an interception in the past five games. With his first touchdown pass to Allen Lazard, he surpassed Favre’s record on Saturday. The latter congratulated him via video message: “I have a request. Get us another Super Bowl. Congratulations.”

The Packers, for whom German-American Equanimeous St. Brown also plays, have already clinched victory in their division and thus a place in the finals. The franchise won the last Super Bowl in 2010 and the play-offs start on 15 January.
