NFL Preseason: Washington Commanders vs. Carolina Panthers for one dollar

For the Washington Commanders’ preseason opener against the Carolina Panthers, fans could buy tickets for just one US dollar. Still, a crowd of about 45,000 watched the Commanders lose 21-23.

Munich – As Daniel Kaplan from “The Athletic” reported in the run-up to the preseason game between the Washington Commanders and the Carolina Panthers, tickets for the game could be purchased for an absolute ridiculous price.

According to the report, tickets for the preseason opener were offered for just one US dollar on a ticket sales platform called “GameTime”. Not to be compared with the prices paid by the team’s supporters during the regular NFL season.

Nearly 45,000 at FedEx Field

At least the ticket price was a “win” for all Commanders fans who took advantage of this offer. For their team narrowly lost to the Panthers 21:23 in the first test match.

According to the “Washington Post”, a total of 44,845 spectators came to FedEX Field in the Washington suburb of Landover to watch the return of football live in the stadium.

Despite the loss, there was plenty new to see for Commanders supporters at the opener. Not only was it the franchise’s first game under the new name, for example, but it was also the Commanders debut of new starting quarterback Carson Wentz.
