NFL: Packers inflict first loss of season on Cardinals

The Green Bay Packers, led by star quarterback Aaron Rodgers, have inflicted the first loss of the NFL season on the Arizona Cardinals.

Los Angeles (SID) – The Green Bay Packers, led by star quarterback Aaron Rodgers, handed the Arizona Cardinals their first NFL loss of the season. The Packers, who also fielded German receiver Equanimeous St. Brown, won 24-21 away from home. The Cardinals had started the season with seven victories and were the only unbeaten team in the American professional football league. Both teams now have a record of 7-1 victories.

For a long time it looked like the Cardinals would win their eighth game of the season. With 15 seconds left, Arizona quarterback Kyler Murray led his team to the edge of the Packers’ end zone, but then his pass to A.J. Green was intercepted by cornerback Rasul Douglas. Douglas had just been cut from the Cardinals’ practice squad earlier this month and signed by Green Bay.

German St. Brown caught two passes from Rodgers for a total gain of twelve yards.
