Jimmy Garoppolo is confident he can play in the Divisional Round at the Green Bay Packers on Sunday night despite his injuries. The banged-up San Francisco 49ers quarterback stressed that he is currently feeling fine.

Munich/San Francisco – Jimmy Garoppolo is hot. The banged-up quarterback of the San Francisco 49ers is therefore confident of being able to play in the Divisional Round at the Green Bay Packers on Sunday night despite his injuries, as “Profootballtalk” reports.

The 30-year-old had already torn ligaments in his right thumb before the game at the Dallas Cowboys and then sprained the shoulder of his throwing arm in the game in the second quarter while trying to protect his thumb during a fall.

Impaired by injury

In the second half, Garoppolo could only get five of his eleven throw attempts to the man for 39 yards and caused an interception that brought Dallas back into the game.

Garoppolo commented, “When you’re a quarterback, the injury affects every throw. It definitely affected my game, but when I’m playing, I have to try to make the plays that I would normally make. There are no excuses. The injury is there, but we all have our issues right now.”

The quarterback also noted, however, that he was currently feeling good and was confident he would be able to play on Sunday.

The progress of the current week’s practice should provide more specific information on the severity of Garoppolo’s injury.
