NFL: Is Aaron Donald Set for a Major Comeback? New Photos Fuel Speculation

Following his recent Instagram comment, Aaron Donald is further fueling rumors of a possible NFL comeback with a workout.

On March 15, 2024, after ten years with the Los Angeles Rams, Aaron Donald announced his retirement from the NFL. A little over three years later, the defensive tackle could now be coming out of retirement.

Just a few days after the 35-year-old caused a stir with a comment on an Instagram post about a possible return, he was spotted at the Rams’ training center.

According to “TMZ,” Donald was seen working out on Friday. According to an eyewitness, the 2021 Super Bowl champion “spent about an hour on the field” performing various exercises, including some with medicine balls.

The longtime tackle is said to have pushed himself to his limits, “until he was visibly exhausted.”

Donald Excited About Garrett Trade

Since the Rams signed defensive end Myles Garrett last month, speculation about Donald’s return has surged again.

Recently, a photo of Donald with two Super Bowl rings was posted on the Instagram account “NFL on Clutch Points.” The caption read, in part: “The thought of combining Garrett’s unstoppable presence with Donald’s historic dominance makes a hypothetical dream come true.”

Aaron Donald commented on the post—with a wide-eyed emoji.

The day after the Garrett trade, Donald also explained on the “Pat McAfee Show” that the move had “definitely given him food for thought.” He said he needed to see if “that fire can be reignited.”

Whether he succeeds will become clear in the coming weeks.
