NFL: Green Bay Packers vs. Pittsburgh Steelers – Jordan Love can’t wait for his duel with Aaron Rodgers

When the Packers face the Steelers on Sunday Night Football, it will be a big reunion. Jordan Love can’t wait to see his old teammate again.

When the Green Bay Packers face the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday Night Football in Week 8 of the new NFL season, it will be a duel between quarterbacks Jordan Love and Aaron Rodgers.

The former is particularly looking forward to the reunion with the new Pittsburgh quarterback. He told Channel3000.com: “It’s going to be a lot of fun. It’s going to be fantastic. I’m really looking forward to it.“

The 26-year-old continues enthusiastically: ”I can’t wait to be on different sides and meet him before the game. We’ll probably chat briefly, things like that. And hopefully we can swap jerseys after the game.”

NFL: Love raves about Rodgers

Love was drafted by Green Bay in 2020, but initially had to wait behind Rodgers in the franchise’s pecking order.

However, he made his breakthrough after three years and has been the Packers’ starting quarterback ever since. Rodgers initially ended up with the New York Jets before moving to the Steelers this offseason.

Love delighted about Rodgers’ return

Love looks back positively on their relationship during their time together. This is also because Rodgers experienced a similar situation with legend Brett Favre when he started out in Green Bay. However, the relationship between Rodgers and Favre was problematic, and Rodgers did not receive much help at the time.

“I definitely appreciate how A-Rod handled our situation,” Love said. “A big part of it was — and he told me this — that he knew exactly how it felt to be in the same position and what he went through back then. Also, how the situation may not have been handled ideally at the time. His perspective was, ‘I want to take a different approach this time.’ And I thought that was great.”

Both had “a great relationship,” Love emphasized. “It was great to be in the same room with him, to learn from him. He was great in every way. I really appreciate how he handled everything externally – especially when it came to his departure and my transition. He was very supportive and helped me deal with some of the negative vibes that come with a change like that. A-Rod handled it professionally and was absolutely fair to me.”

He is happy about his former teammate’s move to Pittsburgh: “There were also rumors that he might not be able to play anymore. Just knowing that he’s continuing to play is great.”
