NFL: Dallas Cowboys beat New York Giants in Week 4 opener

The Dallas Cowboys and the New York Giants faced off at the start of Week 4 of the 2024 NFL season. Dak Prescott and his teammates got the win, but they’re worried about a key player. The same goes for “Big Blue.”

Week 4 of the 2024 NFL season is underway and the Thursday Night Game, featuring the Dallas Cowboys against the New York Giants, is a traditional divisional matchup.

Both teams have struggled in the season so far and went into the game with a record of 1-2, but the Cowboys can breathe a little easier after the 20-15 win.

Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott was responsible for two passing touchdowns to CeeDee Lamb (seven catches, 98 yards) and Rico Dowdle (61 total yards) and completed a strong 22 of 27 passes for 221 yards.

His counterpart Daniel Jones completed 29 of 40 passes for 281 yards (one interception), but had problems in the red zone. The “G-Men” did not score a touchdown, but kicker Greg Joseph scored. He scored all 15 points, but even his 100% field goal percentage could not avert the defeat.

Giants worry about Nabers – Cowboys star Parsons driven off the field

The Giants, in which rookie receiver Malik Nabers, who has been in great form so far, delivered again (twelve catches, 115 yards), had the great chance of a touchdown drive that would win the game with around three and a half minutes left on the clock. But the Cowboys defense held firm, and Jones was unable to connect with Nabers on 4th & 6. It was a bitter blow for the Cowboys, as the 21-year-old appeared to suffer a concussion in the play and did not return to the field.

Dallas then converted a field goal before Giants QB Jones got three shots towards the opposing end zone with a few seconds left on the clock. These were not successful, however, with Prescott kneeling down to secure a somewhat tarnished victory.

Because the Cowboys also have injury concerns. Micah Parsons also had to leave the field with an ankle injury in the fourth quarter and was driven to the locker room. According to US media, an MRI is scheduled for Friday to determine the severity of the injury.

In week 5, Dallas will now face Pittsburgh, with the Giants visiting Seattle a few hours earlier.
