NFL – Baltimore Ravens: At 2,000 yards! Derrick Henry gets a special movie role

Derrick Henry has a very special incentive for the upcoming NFL season. If he performs well, he will get a movie role.

The new NFL season kicks off in September. Derrick Henry is likely to be particularly motivated. The Baltimore Ravens running back has a very special incentive to perform well this year.

We’re not talking about a Super Bowl victory, but an appearance in a film by US actor and producer Adam Sandler.

The background: A few days ago, Henry was a guest on “The Dan Patrick Show” to talk about his new contract. The 31-year-old signed a two-year, $30 million contract with the Ravens.

During the conversation, Henry and Patrick then talked about the presenter’s sweatshirt, which he had received from Sandler. For the NFL star, that was cue: “Can you do me a favor? If you ever see him again, tell him I’m a big fan and would love to meet him,” said the athlete.

Patrick subsequently promised to get Henry a role in an Adam Sandler movie if he ran more than 2,000 rushing yards in the coming season.

Derrick Henry with extra motivation

In the meantime, this offer has become a little more real. During Ravens training, Henry was shown a video message from Sandler, who repeated Dan Patrick’s offer and praised Henry.

“Two thousand yards and more this year will not only get you in a movie, but we’ll go out to dinner together and talk about Dan Patrick’s facial hair and how hard it is for him to grow it,” Sandler joked. “I love you and keep it up.”

Henry is one of only nine NFL players to have had a 2,000-yard rushing season. Should he surpass 2,000 yards in 2025 – he first achieved this in 2020 – he would be the first NFL player to do so twice.
