Aaron Rodgers, quarterback of the Green Bay Packers, causes a stir with an Instagram post. On “The Pat McAfee Show,” the 38-year-old sheds light on the issue and specifically praises the Green Bay Packers.

Munich/Green Bay – The saga surrounding Aaron Rodgers’ future has yet to come to an end.

The Green Bay Packers quarterback caused a stir on Monday evening with an Instagram post. There, he thanked his teammates and his wife, among others, for their support over the past year.

In response, there has been much speculation about the future of the reigning MVP. Is he ending his career after 17 years in the NFL? Or will he perhaps join another team? Or will he stay in Green Bay?

On “The Pat McAfee Show” on Tuesday night, the playmaker explained his post, “I didn’t think about it before. I had great experiences last season and I was frustrated at times. There’s nothing cryptic about it either, I just wanted to show gratitude. Gratitude for the life I have and the experiences I’ve had. “

On the other hand, Rodgers did not have a decision to announce regarding his NFL future, as he shared right at the beginning of the conversation. One photo in particular, showing wide receivers Randall Cobb and Davante Adams with a gap between them, fuelled such speculation.

“This picture just touched me. I wanted to use it to highlight our friendship and our bond. They saved a seat for me at this game because I tested positive for the coronavirus,” said Rodgers, who at least revealed that he was very much considering his future.

He had no news to announce, however.

Rodgers: New QB Coach Tom Clements the Tipping Point?

A not entirely insignificant point that could speak in favour of staying is the signing of Tom Clements as the new quarterbacks coach. The two already worked together at Wisconsin from 2006 to 2016 and won the Super Bowl together in 2010.

“Tom and I go way back. I love Tom. I owe him so much for my development, so I’m glad he’s back in the game. The game is better with Tom Clements coaching because he is one of those special coaches,” he praised the 68-year-old.

The meetings with General Manager Brian Gutekunst and Director of Football Operation Russ Ball also “run differently than they have in the past – in a positive sense”.

Only he knows whether Rodgers will stay in Green Bay or leave the franchise anyway – and he will tell the public in the near future.
