NFL: 50 million dollars a year – star defensive back signs record contract

Until now, the highest-paid non-quarterback in the NFL earned around 46.5 million dollars. That has now changed.

Defensive end Will Anderson has signed a new record contract with the Houston Texans. According to NFL insider Adam Schefter, the 24-year-old will receive a three-year contract with a salary of up to 150 million dollars. Of this, 134 million dollars is said to be guaranteed.

Record deal makes Anderson the highest-paid non-quarterback in the NFL

This deal makes Anderson the highest-paid NFL player who is not a quarterback.

This title previously belonged to Micah Parsons of the Green Bay Packers, who earns 46.5 million dollars a year. With all bonuses, Anderson now makes 50 million a year.

The highest-paid quarterback is currently Dak Prescott, who receives 60 million dollars a year from the Dallas Cowboys.

Anderson was drafted third overall by the Houston Texans in 2023. Since then, he has been regarded as one of the best edge rushers in the league and has recorded over eleven sacks in each of the last two seasons.
