The New York Giants had a big fight in their loss to the Seahawks. Quarterback Daniel Jones now shows understanding.

The New York Giants are in crisis again.

This is partly due to their 1-3 record, but also to the performances themselves. The most recent 3:21 against the Seattle Seahawks was a statement of a negative kind. Quarterback Daniel Jones in particular is at the centre of the criticism.

After his much-discussed pick six in the third quarter, Jones took a seat on the bench, where coach Brian Daboll talked down to him – only to end up throwing away the tablet on which he was showing his playmaker something.

Daboll didn’t want to go into much detail about the spat, and Jones also played down the scene. He was sympathetic to his coach’s reaction, even if it exposed him as it was caught on camera.

“I mean, we were all frustrated,” Jones said. “Just an expensive mistake. I can’t afford to do something like that. We were all frustrated and that’s part of it. “

For now, there wasn’t much more than holdouts from the quarterback. “We were all frustrated and we can’t afford to make that mistake,” Jones said. “You’ve got to put that away right away and go back out there and play. We can’t afford to dwell on it for long. Obviously after the game, you try to learn from it and see what you did wrong.”

That was a lot against the Seahawks, and not just for Jones, who was sacked 10 times after all. He was regularly let down by his O-line. The frustration runs deep for the playmaker, too, as his 160-million contract is shoved under his nose after every poor performance. In Week 5, the beleaguered Giants face the Miami Dolphins.

“He’s frustrated,” wide receiver Darius Slayton said. “Dabs is frustrated, I’m frustrated, everybody’s frustrated. We’re losing. Things aren’t going right. We’re missing plays, we’re not executing plays. I could break a tablet over my head. We all understand that. Nobody thinks differently about Dabs or Daniel or their relationship. “
