New Orleans Saints: Jamaal Williams endorses strike of Alvin Kamara

Alvin Kamara is not currently at practice with the New Orleans Saints. The running back wants a new contract. Support is now coming from his colleague

It has become a popular practice when your own paycheck has become too low: going on strike.

Alvin Kamara is also making use of it this summer. The New Orleans Saints running back is currently not attending his team’s mandatory training sessions.

This is causing some criticism. But not his running back colleague Jamaal Williams. On the contrary, he is completely understanding: “I respect everyone for the decisions they make,” says Williams. “Whatever someone does, that’s their business.”

“However,” he continued, “I support every teammate and whatever they do. And Alvin is an outstanding teammate. I’m behind him 100 percent.” Kamara earns 11.8 million dollars in 2024. But only if he plays the season. His contract expires after the 2025 season

However, Williams also had to admit that it doesn’t help his team in sporting terms when one of its best players is missing. “We all know what it’s like. That’s the way the business is. The only thing we can do is get better every day and prepare for the season as best we can.”

The Saints kick off the season on September 8 with a home game against the Carolina Panthers. It remains to be seen whether Kamara will have a new contract by then.
