Tom Brady told Mike Evans that he would return from retirement. But the Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver didn’t take those statements seriously and ended up surprising Brady’s return himself
Munich – It was a surprise when Tom Brady declared his retirement. Also for his teammates at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Wide receiver Mike Evans told “KPRC’s” Ari Alexander that he thought Tom Brady was pulling his leg.
Evans recounted a conversation he had with Tom Brady via mobile phone, “He texted me and sent me an article selling his ball for over 500 grand, the last touchdown I threw into the crowd against the Rams. He joked that I should have kept the ball myself, it would have paid for my kids’ tuition,” Evans continued.

Evans had then told him that he didn’t know Brady would retire after the season.
The seven-time Super Bowl winner reportedly responded by smiling at him and writing that there would be more touchdowns in their future
“I just thought he was pulling my leg. I didn’t think he would really come back. A few hours later it was announced that he was coming back,” Evans recounted.
