Los Angeles Rams: Puka Nacua Shows Remorse Following Lawsuit

Star receiver Puka Nacua has recently been making negative headlines off the football field. He has now spoken out for the first time and has shown great remorse.

Puka Nacua has spoken out publicly for the first time after a woman in Los Angeles filed a lawsuit against him in March.

In the lawsuit, he is accused of making an “unprovoked anti-Semitic remark” and later biting her on the shoulder.

Nacua, who celebrates his 25th birthday on Friday, declined to comment on the details of the lawsuit or the night in question, describing the matter as an “ongoing legal dispute.”

However, his attorney, Levi McCathern, had already stated in a statement quoted by “ABC News” back in March that Nacua “vehemently” denies the allegations.

Nevertheless, Nacua appeared reflective. “This has been a moment for me to learn from situations I’ve put myself in and to be mindful of how I conduct myself on and off the football field. I’m truly grateful for the support from the organization, especially from my teammates,” the star receiver emphasized.

He continued: “People kept reaching out and checking in on me during the offseason. One of the most important lessons for me is that it’s okay to accept support, and that I need to be aware of my platform as a professional footballer so I can use it positively for myself and others,” Nacua added.

Part of that support for the wide receiver involves therapy. He also spent time at a rehab facility this spring. “Amid all these things that were challenging for me, there were also a lot of positives. And it has significantly improved my life,” Nacua said.

Rams head coach Sean McVay said Thursday that he greatly appreciated Nacua’s “willingness to open up.” “It’s really good to see the path he’s taking. We’ll continue to support him and stand behind him.”

Los Angeles Rams: Puka Nacua enters his final contract year

The fifth-round pick from 2023 is entering the final season of his rookie contract. When asked if he felt comfortable playing in 2026 without an early contract extension, Nacua said he hadn’t “really thought about it yet.”

He continued: “My job is to come here, work with the guys, and compete every day—that’s my mindset. As I grow as a person, the coaches and those around me also help me become a better football player. I have control over that. And I hope the rest will fall into place on its own.”
