Defense star Aaron Donald fights with his Los Angeles Rams against the San Francisco 49ers in the night from Sunday to Monday entry into the Super Bowl. On his second attempt, the future Hall of Famer should finally make it.

Munich/Los Angeles – Allen Iverson in the NBA, Hendrik Lundqvist in the NHL and Dan Marino in the NFL – in each of the major sports leagues in the USA there are legends who never won a title in their active career.

Aaron Donald of the Los Angeles Rams finally wants to break away from this list in the current NFL season. The defensive end is already one of the most dominant defenders in league history and now wants to reward himself by winning the Super Bowl.

For his Rams, however, the Championship Game against the San Francisco 49ers is first on the agenda on Sunday night.

Aaron Donald: “I just want to win “

Three Defensive Player of the Year awards, eight Pro Bowl appearances and seven Team of the Season nominations – Aaron Donald has done it all in his eight-year NFL career. But the 31-year-old is still missing one thing in his collection: the big one.

“I just want to win,” he said at a press conference on Friday: “I don’t know how it feels to win a Super Bowl. I’ve already achieved a lot in my short time in this league. The only thing I’m missing is a Super Bowl success,” the superstar went on to explain.

Donald and Co. also know, however, that achieving the big goal will not be a walk in the park: “We have to focus on this week first,” he warned. The Rams have been waiting for a win against the 49ers for seven games. A win against the division rivals in Week 18 helped San Francisco into the playoffs in the first place.

So after losing to the 49ers, Donald and Co. are more than warned. The lost Super Bowl in 2018 against the New England Patriots is still hanging over Head Coach Sean McVay’s team anyway.

Aaron Donald: Support from the team

“I know how it feels to be in the Super Bowl. But only what it feels like to then lose,” he explained further. “We’re trying to find a way back there and finally get what we’re missing,” he continued.

Donald is receiving plenty of support from his own ranks. Coaches and teammates are also aware of the rare opportunity to finally bring a Super Bowl to the City of Angels. This season, the Rams would even have the unique opportunity to win the title at their home SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles against their opponents from the AFC.

Donald’s personal legacy also plays a big role in the team: “Everyone here wants to win the title for Aaron Donald. The team wants to make his legacy even more epic,” said defensive coordinator Raheem Morris.

Routinier Von Miller, who already has a Super Bowl ring to his credit, wants to help his teammates achieve the same triumph. “I want to help them. If Aaron Donald wins a Super Bowl, he has achieved everything. In the same way, I want Andrew Whitworth and Eric Weddle to finally win,” the linebacker said.

If the Rams bring a similar team spirit to the field on Sunday as they did in preparation, chances are Donald’s big dream will finally come true this season.
