LeSean McCoy completed his first training with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The running back was particularly impressed by a teammate: Quarterback Tom Brady.
The hug was short but warm. But LeSean McCoy did not stop at a first welcome by Tom Brady during his first training with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The running back lost no time. He grabbed the quarterback superstar, took him aside for a moment.

One of the first things I asked him was, ‘Hey, let me know what you expect from the running back group when you catch. Because I know you’ve done that a lot'”, said McCoy.
According to media reports, McCoy was impressed by Brady’s performance in the huddle and his consistent, pinpoint passes.
The 32-year-old is still just under 900 yards from the 12,000-yard mark, but the veteran is also considered a good receiver, which Brady can look forward to.
Last NFL season, however, the former superstar barely made his mark on Super Bowl winner Kansas City Chiefs, and he was not even in the squad for the big game against the San Francisco 49ers. He looks back on 465 yards and four touchdowns, plus another 181 yards and a touchdown.
For around a million dollars for one season he joined the Buccaneers, but he had turned down other offers. “I want to win,” McCoy said. He had done many great things in his career, he emphasized, “but I’m not finished yet. I want to make a contribution, I need something to drive me, I want to be with a group of people who want to win, and I think this is a perfect place,” he said, “They’re building something special here.
Mentoring role in the booth
He wants to help with that. What role he will play in this remains to be seen. In the cabin he is the mentor. The experience can also help him on the pitch.
How it will look like there in the group with Ronald Jones, Dare Ogunbowale and rookie Ke’Shawn Vaughn, remains to be seen. “I love competition,” McCoy said: “If someone says you can’t do something or asks if you can do something, you want to get going. And that’s my situation.”
