Julio Jones signs with Tampa Bay Buccaneers – and collects handsome salary

Free agent Julio Jones is making a new start with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. With the Bucs, the wide receiver receives a one-year contract and a handsome salary.

Munich – Free agent Julio Jones has signed a new one-year contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, the wide receiver will receive a base salary of six million US dollars with the Bucs.

On top of that, up to two million US dollars can be added. The 33-year-old’s one-year contract has a possible total value of eight million US dollars.

Jones’ messed up season with the Titans

Jones spent last season with the Tennessee Titans and reportedly turned down offers from the Green Bay Packers and others for the Buccaneers.

In exchange, the receiver will play alongside Tom Brady, whose offense has once again gained quality after the Jones deal. Thus, Jones will also be seen in the first NFL game between the Bucs and the Seattle Seahawks in Munich on 13 November.

However, Jones was a free agent for a reason. The season with the Titans was a downhill slide for the former star receiver. 31 catches, 434 yards and a single touchdown were the final tally – all career negatives for Jones.
