Jamal Adams fined $50,000

The NFL has fined Seahawks safety Jamal Adams. The latter had behaved inappropriately towards a doctor during the game against the Bengals.

The NFL has fined Seattle Seahawks safety Jamal Adams $50,000. Adams, according to the league, would have made “verbal comments and forced inappropriate physical contact with a doctor” during Seattle’s loss to the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 6 reports “CBS Sports.”

In a letter to Adams this week, the league said Adams interfered with the proper conduct of the game when the independent neurotrauma consultant went to the medical tent with Seahawks wide receiver Jake Bobo to evaluate a concussion.

Bobo had just caught a 20-yard pass from Geno Smith when Bengals safety Dax Hill threw a big hit on Bobo that resulted in a penalty. Bobo was taken out of the game for an evaluation, but was able to return to the game.

Adams: Not the first case

Sunday’s incident occurred after an incident earlier this month when Adams yelled at another independent doctor on the sideline as he was brought in to be evaluated for a concussion.

Adams was eventually diagnosed with a concussion. Although the NFL was considering a fine at the time, the league did not punish Adams and he later publicly apologized.

“I want to apologize. You did everything right when you realized I had a concussion. I apologize for the negative energy I brought to you,” Adams wrote in early October.

“Watching the replay, I am grateful for your patience as I knew I was not myself in that moment. You are a genuine person and serve a great purpose that benefits the NFL and so many players. The health of the players has to come first. Great respect.”
