Eli Manning’s number 10 will no longer be awarded by the New York Giants in future.

The longtime playmaker received a standing ovation from fans. Co-owner John Mara said, “Eli, thank you for everything you’ve done for the New York Giants over the last 16 years, for being such a role model for our players and for our fans. Thank you for everything you’ve done in the community.”

Manning: “Once a Giant, always a Giant”
Manning addressed the audience, saying, “Being a part of the Giants family has been one of the greatest joys of my life.” He thanked all the “great teammates and coaches, his family and the great fans.” Continuing, he said, “Once a Giant, always a Giant. I’m glad I’ve only ever been a Giant. “

The younger brother of Peyton Manning was picked by the San Diego Chargers in the 2004 NFL Draft, but didn’t want to play for that franchise and was traded to the Giants in exchange for Philip Rivers. He played for New York until the 2019 season and won the Super Bowl twice.
