Extending Davante Adams’ contract is a major offseason goal for the Green Bay Packers. Packers GM Brian Gutekunst, however, isn’t ruling out Free Agency with Adams.
Green Bay/Munich – Davante Adams of the Green Bay Packers is among the league’s best receivers and could potentially become a free agent.
Packers GM Brian Gutekunst did not rule out such a move during a media roundtable. “Yeah, it’s a possibility. There’s a lot of things to determine,” he said. But before Adams is released into free agency, the Packers want to try to tie him to the franchise long-term.
Alternatively, the franchise tag could be a possibility. “If we need it, we will certainly use it,” Gutekunst said when asked.
Adams totalled 123 catches for 1,553 receiving yards last season – both career highs that earned him a fifth consecutive Pro Bowl nomination.
