Detroit Lions first team out of playoff race – despite first win of the season

The Detroit Lions last made the playoffs in 2016. The dry spell continues. The Michigan franchise has already lost all chances of making the postseason after Week 13.

Munich – For the Detroit Lions, the playoff ticket is already out of reach after Week 13.

Head coach Dan Campbell’s team celebrated its first win of the season thanks to a last-second touchdown by Amon-Ra St. Brown in a 29-27 victory over the Minnesota Vikings, but the success of the Philadelphia Eagles means there is no longer any chance of finishing in one of the top seven places in the NFC.

The Birds won 33-18 at the New York Jets and are now 6-7.

The Lions still have five more tries to improve their disastrous 1-10-1 record. After the away game at the Denver Broncos, the Arizona Cardinals come to the Motor City, followed by trips to the Atlanta Falcons and the Seattle Seahawks, before the divisional duel against the Green Bay Packers closes the season.
