Davante Adams explains reasons for move from Packers to Raiders

After his surprising move from the Green Bay Packers to the Las Vegas Raiders, wide receiver Davante Adams explains the reasons for his decision in a conversation with journalists.

Munich – It was one of THE surprises in Free Agency: Davante Adams is leaving the Green Bay Packers to join the Las Vegas Raiders.

For the first time since his trade, the wide receiver has now attended an official media appointment and explained the reasons for his decision in a conversation with US journalists.

According to the report, he was able to fulfil two important goals by making the switch. On the one hand, the pass receiver wanted to play for the team of which he has been a fan since childhood. Secondly, he wanted to be on the same team as Derek Carr again.

Adams looking forward to Raiders and Carr

Both had played together in college at Fresno State and had talked frequently since then about how great it would be to have the chance to do that again in the NFL.

Accordingly, this was “something we were definitely looking forward to.” As such, the two have spoken more frequently in recent weeks after the prospect of a trade for the receiver became more likely.

“As things progressed, of course we communicated several times a week,” Adams is quoted as saying by the Las Vegas Review-Journal. “When we got to a point where it was something realistic and not just a thought, we started putting together a little plan. “

Playing with Rodgers “a dream “

And continued, “At that point, I was still in Green Bay. I was still weighing my options. I grew up in East Palo Alto. I’ve been a Raiders fan my whole life. It was my dream to be a Raider. I said I wanted to be an NFL star, and I was wearing a Charles Woodson jersey at the time. I guess you could say it was meant to be.”

Despite his euphoria about his new employer, Adams did not fail to mention his time with the Packers. He explained that his interaction with Aaron Rodgers was “a dream”.
