Dallas Cowboys: Sam Williams arrested for weapons and drug possession

Cowboys defensive end Sam Williams has been arrested for illegal weapons and drug possession in Texas. It’s not the first time Williams has drawn attention to himself with negative headlines.

Williams allegedly carried a firearm without a permit as well as an unknown amount of marijuana, reports the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

Police in Frisco, Texas, a suburb of Dallas, took the Cowboys’ defensive end into custody, he said.

Under Texas judicial law, Williams is charged with unlawful carrying of a weapon and illegal possession of narcotics.

The second-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft already had run-ins with police during his rookie season: Last December, Williams was involved in a car crash that landed him and another motorist in the hospital.

The Cowboys defensive end was going 160 mph on a road with a speed limit of 80 when he collided with a second car, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

Williams missed the Cowboys’ Week 16 game against the Eagles with a concussion after the accident.
