Dallas Cowboys: AT&T Stadium is already to be renovated again – for 295 million dollars.

Although it only opened in 2009, according to a report the Dallas Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium is to be renovated for 295 million dollars. The reason is not even the NFL.

Munich – The AT&T Stadium is to be renovated again 13 years after its opening – for almost 300 million dollars. This is reported by the “Sports Business Journal”.

According to the report, the football temple, which only opened in 2009, is to retain its previous appearance, but the VIP areas are to be freshened up before the upcoming lease extensions and the technology is to be brought up to date before the 2026 World Cup begins.

AT&T Stadium is one of 16 sites for the upcoming World Cup in Canada, the US and Mexico.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, who owns a net worth of $14 billion, is said to be refusing to pay for the renovations.

That’s why the Texans are expected to ask the other 31 NFL franchises at a league meeting next week to withhold their share from joint ticket revenue that would otherwise be split among all teams.

For continued funding, the Cowboys are also said to be willing to waive the NFL’s $600 million debt limit.

Stadium for major events – World Cup final venue in 2026?

Since opening in 2009, AT&T Stadium has hosted numerous major events such as Super Bowl XLV, the 2015 College Football Playoff National Championship Game and the 2010 NBA All-Star Weekend.

In three and a half years, it is considered one of the top favourites to host the 2026 World Cup finals, along with SoFi Stadium (Los Angeles) and MetLife Stadium (East Rutherford, New Jersey).
