Corona protocol disregarded! NFL fines Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers

The NFL has concluded its investigation into the Green Bay Packers’ disregard for Corona protocol by quarterback Aaron Rodgers and Allen Lazard. According to the report, both the franchise and the two players will be fined and a threat has been issued should such incidents be repeated.

Munich/Green Bay – The NFL is cracking down and taking the Green Bay Packers to task.

The investigation into the Packers’ disregard for Corona protocol by quarterback star Aaron Rodgers and Allen Lazard has now been completed and both the franchise itself and both players must each pay fines.

Corona rules ignored: Fines for misconduct

While the franchise will be fined $300,000, Rodgers and Lazard will have to fork over $14,650 each.

Both players were unvaccinated at a Halloween event. Such off-site team activities are supposed to be announced, but Rodgers and Lazard missed out. Unvaccinated players are actually only allowed to meet in a maximum of three and with a mask over their mouth and nose, according to NFL protocol. This was not observed in the case of Rodgers and Lazard. In addition, the signal caller held several press conferences without a mask – also something unvaccinated players are prohibited from doing.

According to ESPN: NFL threatens Packers with draft penalty for repeat offense

The fact that the Packers complied with the NFL’s investigation into the circumstances registered positively in the penalty by the league.

However, ESPN reports that if the offence occurs again, the franchise will face stiffer penalties. Anything from disciplinary action to the loss of a draft position in a round or even the deduction of an entire draft pick is possible, the report said.
