Colin Kaepernick Five teams with interest – Workouts apparently pay off

Colin Kaepernick continues to fight for his second chance in the NFL. His workouts over the past few days certainly seem to have done their job: As one of the quarterback’s handlers explains, several teams are interested in further talks with the quarterback.

Munich – For five years now, Colin Kaepernick has been waiting for his second chance in the NFL.

The 34-year-old quarterback once made it to the Super Bowl with the San Francisco 49ers, but his anthem protest and outspoken criticism of the NFL’s conduct then caused Kaepernick to gradually disappear from the scene.

But the veteran still stirs the advertising drum during every offseason and hopes for a team that will sign him after all.

And right now, that seems more likely than ever.

Colin Kaepernick: Serious interest from several teams

“He definitely has the skills to make any squad,” Kaepernick’s coach David Robinson tells TMZ.

The former top quarterback’s most recent workouts have also made quite an impression. A few days ago, Kaepernick trained with Seattle Seahawks star Tyler Lockett and posted a video of it on social media.

“Some teams have contacted me and asked what his arm looked like,” Robinson describes. Five teams seem to have a serious interest in his protégé.

Workouts with NFL stars as signs

Kaepernick had been on a bit of a tour of the United States over the past few weeks, working out with numerous other NFL stars in addition to Lockett, including Justin Fields and Tyrod Taylor in Atlanta.

“I’m still waiting for that chance,” Kaepernick admitted in an interview with the Seattle Times. “I still have hope. There have been some conversations.”

The most promising one was with the former San Francisco 49ers star at, of all places, division rival Seattle.

Head coach Pete Carroll and general manager John Schneider have shown themselves quite taken with the quarterback in recent days, but whether a contract for Kaepernick will actually jump out in the end is still up in the air.

The Seahawks already invited the playmaker to a workout in 2017, but another meeting was cancelled in 2018.

Kaepernick’s clear instruction to teams

He said he could understand doubts from teams after a five-year break, however the playmaker also had a clear instruction for interested teams.

“The best way to find out all this is to invite me for a workout,” the 34-year-old said. “We just want to get a chance to walk through that door and show them what I’m made of. I’m confident that my talent and ability will speak for me.”

“Does this boy deserve a second chance? I think so,” Carroll underlined a few days ago.

Last game in January 2017

On January 1, 2017, Kaepernick played his last NFL game to date.

He recorded 215 yards and a touchdown in a 23-25 loss to the Seahawks.

In the 2012 season, Kaepernick surprisingly led the 49ers to the Super Bowl, which they lost 31-34 to the Baltimore Ravens.
