Legendary coach Pete Carroll is considering a comeback to the NFL. According to ESPN, he is said to be eyeing the head coaching job with the Chicago Bears.
Is Pete Carroll returning to the coaching chair? According to ESPN, 73-year-old Carroll is said to be interested in the job as head coach of the Chicago Bears. There is said to be no concrete exchange yet, but Carroll would be pleased with the opportunity.
He is particularly keen to work with rookie quarterback Caleb Williams. The Bears fired head coach Matt Eberflus at the end of November, since when Thomas Brown has been in charge on an interim basis.
Bears before the clash with the Seahawks
Thomas Brown has so far been unable to promote himself as a long-term solution. Under his leadership, the Bears lost all three games (against the 49ers, Vikings and Lions) by a wide margin.
With a young quarterback, enough ammunition in the upcoming NFL Draft and a comparatively large amount of leeway in cap space, the Bears are likely to be an attractive option for Carroll.
The Bears face the Seattle Seahawks in the upcoming game day.
