Munich/Atlanta – Atlanta Falcons general manager Terry Fontenot is hopeful Calvin Ridley will return for the 2022 NFL season, saying the team will support Ridley, who suffers from mental issues, in his recovery process at any time.
“Nothing has changed. As an organization, we’ve done the best job we can to support Calvin and help him,” Fontenot told The Associated Press.

Falcons want to be prepared for any situation
When asked if the Falcons are preparing to play without Ridley in 2022, the GM expressed cautious optimism. “I wouldn’t assume that. We evaluate each situation individually. There are so many variables we have to consider. We’re going to try to strengthen at every position in the offseason.”
He added: “No matter what player we’re talking about, we have to be prepared for every situation. “

Calvin Ridley had announced via “Twitter” on October 31 that he was temporarily retiring from football to focus on his mental health.
The Falcons clearly missed the playoffs at the end of the regular season with a record of 7-10. Atlanta finished third in the NFC South.
