Bijan Robinson not calling in sick properly: Atlanta Falcons face trouble

Running back Bijan Robinson barely got into action last game day banged up. But because the Falcons didn’t call him in sick, trouble now looms.

It wasn’t just fantasy football players and sports betting fans who were wondering this past NFL game day why the Atlanta Falcons didn’t reveal that Bijan Robinson wasn’t feeling well before the game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The rookie running back recorded just a single run for three yards and sat on the sidelines for nearly the entire game. The franchise had not previously declared the rookie star as ill, which would have been required under league bylaws.

According to NFL insider Adam Schefter, the NFL is now questioning the Falcons about why they did not report Robinson’s status and when they were made aware of the situation. If the team is found to have committed misconduct, it could face a fine.

During the game, Falcons coach Arthur Smith had told “FOX” that Robinson “didn’t feel good” when asked about his star rookie’s minimal playing time.

“ESPN “R, meanwhile, noted that Robinson said he was feeling “completely out of control” and had started “feeling funny” and having headaches Saturday night.

Robinson was not tested for a concussion nor did he undergo COVID testing. Thanks to a game-winning field goal by Younghoe Koo, the Falcons still managed to beat the Buccaneers 16-13 without Robinson’s services.
