Antonio Brown uses a podcast visit with NFL star Tyreek Hill to explain his Bucs departure from early 2022. A strange monologue ensues from the wide receiver, who doesn’t leave a good hair on his ex-team.

It’s been a year and a half since Antonio Brown ripped off his jersey in the third quarter of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ game against the New York Jets on January 2, 2022, and stormed out of the stadium topless in the middle of the game. Four days later, the Bucs fired their star wide receiver, who had been instrumental in their Super Bowl triumph the previous year.

Tampa Bay announced in the release that Brown had not had an injury and that he had refused to be examined by an external orthopaedic surgeon in the days following his inglorious departure.

Now a guest on Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill’s “It needed to be said” podcast, “AB” gave his perspective – and didn’t take kindly to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He was “treated like a little dog”, the 34-year-old scolded.

In a memorable and often very difficult to understand monologue, Brown described how he wanted to sacrifice himself for the team, how Brady promised him beforehand to throw him “ten to twelve” balls – and how he then burst his collar in pain during the game.

“So I got ready, got dressed and went. But I already knew they were messing with me the whole time I was suspended. They just wanted me to go on, to get everything out of me,” the “enfant terrible” began.

And followed up: “So now I come to the game while I’m injured, I’m in my zone, I’m super injured and I could get more injured. They didn’t try to put me in a good position. And I was like, I’m not here to get hurt, I’m here to help you guys win. You won’t give me the ball, …. F*** you w***ers, I’m out of here.”

Brown hasn’t played in the NFL since that spectacular end with the Bucs. A comeback is becoming more distant by the day – especially after performances like this that completely lack an admission of his own mistakes.
