After “ball theft”: Buccaneers shower fan with gifts

After a fan of Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers had to give back the game ball that was handed to him, it is raining gifts.

Cologne (SID) – After a fan of Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers had to return the game ball handed to him, it is raining gifts. The team from the NFL’s professional football league is compensating Byron Kennedy handsomely for allowing him to be persuaded to return the special piece, according to ESPN.

Wide receiver Mike Evans had pushed the ball into Kennedy’s hands in the game at the Chicago Bears (38-3). The pro had not been aware at the time that he had previously caught Tom Brady’s 600th touchdown pass. And the superstar was determined to keep the special ball.

Kennedy is now to receive two signed Brady jerseys, along with a helmet, a jersey signed by Evans and the shoes the pass catcher wore in the game, in addition to another ball. There are also two season tickets for the remainder of the season, the 2022/23 season, and a $1,000 gift card to the fan shop.

Brady paid tribute to the fan for being so accommodating. “It was really cool that he did that,” the 44-year-old said. Besides Brady, only three other quarterbacks have scored more than 500 touchdowns in Drew Brees (571), Peyton Manning (539) and Brett Favre (508).
