It is still not officially known whether Aaron Rodgers will stay with the Green Bay Packers or not. A return is said to be conditional. A spiritual rest was supposed to help him make a decision. He has now ended this.
The offseason speculation surrounding Aaron Rodgers continues. According to NFL insider Tom Pelissero, a return of the four-time MVP is conditional, but on the part of the Packers.
According to the report, the Packers are demanding that Rodgers “give his all” in the coming season. Under this premise, head coach Matt LaFleur’s team would welcome him with open arms.
“CBS” also reports that the Packers’ front office may feel that Rodgers has not been working as hard as he used to lately.
There were reportedly “good conversations” after this past season, in which the Packers disappointingly missed the playoffs.
Aaron Rodgers takes timeout
Meanwhile, Aaron Rodgers has returned from his self-imposed timeout.
The quarterback had previously stated a dark retreat in complete solitude would help him decide whether to return to the Green Bay Packers, get traded to another team or retire.
That decision-making process appears to be advanced or even complete. Scott Berman, the owner of provider Sky Cave Retreats told “ESPN” that Rodgers had left the facility. Although Rodgers had previously said he planned to spend four days and four nights at the facility, he reportedly arrived on Monday and left as early as Wednesday.
Rodgers spent his spiritual retreat in a room about 90 square metres in size that let in no natural light and was isolated from noise. The only equipment he had was a bed, a meditation mat and a bathroom. Food was brought to him.
Rodgers could earn around $60 million in 2023 season
The 39-year-old Rodgers would earn a total of around $60 million in the upcoming season if he plays under his current contract with the Packers. The New York Jets are interested in signing Rodgers via trade, according to media reports. The Packers have also reportedly indicated a willingness to offload Rodgers.
The quarterback alone has his future in his hands because he is said to have a clause in his contract that allows him to decline potential trades.
