Washington Football Team Fires Another Coach – After Drug Enforcement Agency Raid

The coaching scandal surrounding the Washington football team continues to grow. The franchise relieves the next coach of his duties after a raid by the Drug Enforcement Administration.

Munich – The Washington football team’s coaching scandal continues to widen.

According to “ESPN” information, the second coach has now been dismissed from the franchise. The coach in question is assistant athletic trainer Doug Quon. Only a few days earlier, head athletic trainer Ryan Vermillion had already been relieved of his duties.

Both personnel decisions are connected to a raid by the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), which was carried out at the training ground and also at Vermillion’s private residence.

Did coaches prescribe drugs without permission?

According to a DEA report, coaches are being investigated on suspicion of unauthorised distribution of prescription drugs.

Chief and deputy chiefs of athletics staff, unlike team doctors or therapists, are not authorised to prescribe or dispense medication.

The Washington football team has already announced that the current case has no connection with the franchise. Until something concrete comes up, both coaches will continue to be paid by the team.

Vermillion has only been with the football team since January last year and was previously on head coach Ron Rivera’s coaching staff for nine years when he was still employed by the Carolina Panthers.  Representative Quon is already in his seventh year working for the former Redskins.
