Good news from the NFL. Referee Adrian Hill, who was taken off the field during Thursday Night Game, is probably not seriously injured.
All-clear in the NFL. The referee who had to leave the field injured during Thursday night’s game between the Houston Texans and the Buffalo Bills (23:19) is not believed to have suffered any serious injuries.
According to NFL insider Tom Pelissero, head referee Adrian Hill’s Achilles tendon is intact. Although he may be out for some time, a return this season is not out of the question.
In the middle of the third quarter, Hill had to be driven off the field after injuring his leg without any outside influence.
He had been running after a play as usual when he suddenly jumped up and grabbed his leg. He was then unable to put any weight on his leg.
Referee Hill has been active in the NFL since 2010
After Hill was taken away, Roy Ellison took over the white cap as the head referee and officiated the game until the end.
Hill, who is actually an aerospace engineer, has been active in various roles as a referee in the NFL since 2010. Since 2019, he has been officiating games as the “white hat,” i.e., as the head referee on the field.
