“The Blind Side”: A twist in the Michael Oher case?

The legal dispute between Michael Oher, whose story was told in the well-known film “The Blind Side”, and his alleged adoptive family is entering the next round. Now a document could provide a twist.

The movie “Blind Side – The Big Chance” portrays the life of Michael Oher. He grew up in a home because his mother was deprived of custody due to drug abuse. He was then adopted by the Tuohy family and Oher eventually made it into the NFL.

A few months ago, however, the former NFL player caused a stir. He filed a 14-page petition in court.

According to the petition, Oher, whom the Tuohys took in as a high school student, was never adopted by the family. Rather, Sean and Leigh Anne Tuohy allegedly tricked him into signing a guardianship.

With the guardianship, they allegedly had power of attorney to conduct business for him, even after he turned 18. In addition, according to the lawsuit, he allegedly gave 20th Century Fox Studios the rights to his story “without any payment. “

Turn in the case?

According to “ESPN”, there is now a document that exonerates the Tuohy family. It is said to prove that payments amounting to 138,311.01 US dollars were received between June 2007 and April 2023 – his share of film and book rights.

The family’s lawyer also argued that the Tuohys supported Oher financially during his high school and college years.

When asked by ESPN, the legal team representing Oher declined to comment on the ongoing trial.
