Rob Gronkowski ended his career for the second time last summer. Nevertheless, there was always speculation about a comeback. The former tight end now made a clear announcement about this.
Rob Gronkowski will not play another game in the NFL. Ever again.
At least according to his own statement. “TMZ Sports” the former Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New England Patriots tight end explained that there was “no chance” of another comeback.
The 33-year-old had already ended his career once, but came back from retirement for his buddy Tom Brady at the time. Accordingly, rumours of another return to the NFL persisted.
But his second career end, announced by Gronk in June 2022, seems final. “There is no more possibility. I’m happily retired,” he made clear.
Rob Gronkowski: Found a new passion
However, even in retirement he doesn’t let the sport and competition rest completely, as he revealed. The new passion: pickleball
As he himself explained, he is also very successful at it: “I beat my brothers Chris and Gordon, who both played with professionals. And I beat them with an 0815 player, my other brother Glenn.”
“I’m happy, still have the competition in my life, still winning – I don’t have to go back to football at all,” added Gronk.
