In the US professional football league NFL, the next player will not play in the upcoming season due to the coronavirus pandemic. Punt returner De’Anthony Thomas (27) will not be available to the Baltimore Ravens, the team announced on Monday (local time).

Thomas is the second professional after Super Bowl winner Laurent Duvernay-Tardif (Kansas City Chiefs) to make use of the “opt-out” option in the wake of the corona crisis. This is a clause agreed between the NFL and the NFLPA players’ union.

Duvernay-Tardif prefers to continue to act as a doctor in the coronary crisis. In the case of Thomas, the reasons were not explained in detail. Both will now each receive a salary of 150,000 dollars (128,700 euros).
