Quarterback WG in quarantine: Darnold and the Allens are stuck in California

The NFL quarterbacks Sam Darnold, Josh Allen and Kyle Allen actually only wanted to do a joint training camp in California. But suddenly the corona virus broke out, the three of them were not supposed to leave the house anymore and one of them was even tradged.

Actually it should have been a normal off-season camp. Workouts in a friend’s garage, throwing balls on the beaches of Orange County and joint quarterback training with throwing coach Jordan Palmer.

That’s how Sam Darnold of the New York Jets, Josh Allen of the Buffalo Bills and Kyle Allen of the Washington Redskins imagined it when they started the Super Bowl training camp together.

Instead, the signal callers are now in the middle of the worldwide corona crisis and are forced to stay in their homes. Something that could become difficult for the two Allens as the week progresses. After all, the lease on their apartment, which they moved into together with their girlfriends, will expire in the next few days.

Darnold and the Allen: Throwing practice only possible on the beach
That’s what Kyle Allen told Sports Illustrated: “I may have to crash Sam’s house.”

Sam Darnold recently bought his own house on the beach. That’s where the three young stars have to practice their throws because most of the parks and training grounds in the area have closed.

“Not much has changed. It has just become harder to find a place where we can throw and train. We still work a lot and try to adapt to the situation as best we can. Just like everyone else,” continues Allen.

So the quarterbacks are also falling the ceiling, as the Redskins newcomer explained to ESPN: “I’ll be honest, it’s pretty boring. We play card games, Call of Duty and we get bored. That’s pretty much it.”

Kyle Allen: In quarantine, he learned about the Redskins trade…
Allen should have enough on his plate by now. After all, according to “Sports Illustrated” during the camp, he learned that he will be playing in Washington D.C. in the future – just one week after signing a new one-year contract with the Panthers and a lease near the Bank of America Stadium.

“All I really had in my head was this coronavirus thing. Then on Monday I went with Sam and Josh to a friend’s garage for a workout and got a call from our General Manager, Marty Hurney, who said: ‘Thanks for everything you’ve done for us. We’re trading you to Washington.'”

There he meets his old head coach Ron Rivera and competes against Dwayne Haskins. After talking to Rivera, he expects to go to the Redskins and fight for the starter job. It is a great opportunity for him.

Also, moving to D.C. means he can live a little closer to his friends from AFC East. It’s not far to Sam Darnold in New York and Josh Allen in Buffalo. The only question is how much longer he can bear them after the quarantine together.
