Rob Gronkowski is back – at least in the WWE! In Wrestlemania 36 the ex-player of the New England Patriots takes on a key role.
It’s official! Rob Gronkowski, former Tight End of the New England Patriots, will be part of the WWE major event Wrestlemania 36 at the beginning of April. Gronk confirmed this via Twitter. However, the 30-year-old will not be contesting an official fight, but will be the main host of the event.
It’s official! I’m hosting @WrestleMania this year…and it’s gonna be too big for just one night. For the 1st time, #WrestleMania will be a 🚨2-NIGHT🚨event: Saturday, April 4 AND Sunday, April 5 on @WWENetwork! Tell you more this Friday night on #SmackDown at 8 ET on @FOXTV.

Wrestlemania for the first time on two evenings
Furthermore, according to Gronkowski, Wrestlemania 36 will take place on two evenings instead of one this year for the first time. On April 4 and 5, the biggest WWE event of the year is scheduled to take place in a studio at the WWE Performance Center, after the originally planned event in the Tampa (Florida) stadium had to be postponed due to the corona virus.
It was already reported last week that Gronkowski is close to becoming involved with WWE. In the NFL, he won the Super Bowl three times with the Patriots before ending his career after the 2018 season.
