Official: NFL gives green light for training camps

After days of consultations with the players’ union, the NFL is now notifying the teams: the start of the training camps will take place as planned at the end of July.

It’s official: The Training Camps for the NFL season 2020 will take place as planned at the end of July, despite the high corona case numbers in the USA.

The NFL has informed the teams in a circular letter that the start dates for the start of the Training Camps have been fixed: Rookies are scheduled to start on July 21st. Quarterbacks and injured players will follow from July 23rd, before all other players can be registered for the camps on July 28th. This means that the NFL is sticking to its target schedule for the pre-season preparation.

However, this does not apply to the Houston Texans and Kansas City Chiefs, who will be able to call their players to the training camps a day earlier due to their Thursday Night Game at the NFL start.

According to the “NFL Network”, details of exact regulations in view of the dangers posed by Covid-19 are still to be negotiated between the NFL and the players’ union NFLPA.
