NFL: Washington Football Team – New allegations against owner Dan Snyder

In the investigation into the bullying and harassment allegations at the Washington Football Team, there are new rumours. Allegedly, lawyers for team owner Daniel Snyder have tried to influence the NFL’s ongoing investigation.

Munich/Washington – Daniel Snyder is defending himself against allegations of bullying and sexual harassment in the workplace. In doing so, the owner of the Washington football team is apparently pulling out all the stops. For as the “Washington Post” reports, Snyder is said to have hired both lawyers and private investigators to disrupt the NFL’s ongoing investigation.

The lead investigator hired by the NFL, Beth Wilkinson, stated that she had come across an allegation of sexual misconduct against Daniel Snyder from a former WFT employee. Both parties had eventually settled out of court in 2009 for a payment of US$1.6 million.

Snyder’s lawyers deny any allegations

After Wilkinson then spoke to the former employee, she stated that Snyder’s lawyers had recently offered her money not to speak to anyone about these allegations and the case.

Snyder’s lawyers, in turn, stated that they had never tried to prevent the conversation with Wilkinson and, moreover, had not offered the woman in question any money for her silence.

However, this was reportedly not the only attempt by Dan Snyder to disrupt the NFL’s investigation.

NFL: Were there any other intimidation attempts?

So his lawyers reportedly filed a request with the court to find out which of the former female employees had spoken to the Washington Post or Beth Wilkinson. This was done with the aim of intimidating the women and dissuading them from testifying, reports Bleacher Report.

To this end, Snyder allegedly hired private investigators to intimidate and dissuade the women concerned from testifying in the NFL’s investigation.

The results of the investigation have not yet been made public by NFL Commissioner Roger Godell. Instead, the US Congress is now exerting further pressure. According to “Sports Illustrated”, two members demanded that the NFL provide them with all evidence.

NFL: US Congress requests more evidence

The reports of Snyder’s behaviour in the course of the investigation would make the worst fears come true, writes Democrat politician Raja Krishnamoorthi in a press release on the allegations.

“To get to the bottom of everything, the NFL must quickly turn over to us all the evidence on Snyder’s intimidation attempts and other documents that were already requested a month ago,” it continues. They are now even more determined to bring the whole truth to light in the case about Snyder and the Washington football team.

Things are looking darker and darker for the NFL boss.
