NFL: Tom Brady Celebrates Champions League Winner Paris Saint-Germain—What’s the Story?

Tom Brady congratulated Paris Saint-Germain on winning the Champions League via Instagram. His connection to the soccer club has existed for several years.

Tom Brady was clearly delighted when Paris Saint-Germain won the Champions League final against Arsenal. “Congratulations @PSG,” he wrote, along with a few clapping emojis, adding below: “Hard earned and well deserved.”

At first glance, this might seem like a typical celebrity reaction to a major final. But Brady’s affection for PSG is nothing new. His connection as a fan to the top French club has existed for several years.

Brady has been a PSG fan since 2021

Brady had already spoken publicly about his interest in PSG back in 2021. At the time, he said he had followed their run to the Champions League semifinals.

“I’ve become a big PSG fan, celebrating a great victory in the Champions League against Bayern,” Brady said at the time.

This connection later became more tangible. In 2024, during a stay in France, Brady visited PSG’s training facility, toured the professional team’s facilities, met staff members, and stepped onto the training field.

PSG publicized the visit on social media, showing Brady wearing a personalized jersey featuring his last name and his famous number 12.

The trip was part of a larger European tour that also included Brady’s visit to the 24 Hours of Le Mans car race.

That trip aligned with the general direction of his post-NFL career, in which he has increasingly engaged with global sports rather than focusing exclusively on American football.

While he remains closely tied to the NFL through his role as a co-owner of the Las Vegas Raiders, his investment in Birmingham City of England’s second division has also made soccer an integral part of his business portfolio.
