In the “New Heights” podcast, the two NFL stars have now spoken about the curious beginning of their “bromance”.
Quarterback Mahomes revealed a chirpy story of the two and got chatty: “The first time I felt a connection between us was at rookie training camp after the fourth preseason game.”
Namely, after that said game, the players were given the day off for the remainder of the day. As a result, Mahomes went out in the evening with the other rookies and met Travis Kelce. Full of joy, the tight end then called out to him: “Come to our table! Let’s have a great time!”
Although the young quarterback then arrived home late at night and set his alarm eight times for the following day’s practice, he found out in the morning that he had overslept. The reason: “I forgot to charge my mobile phone so that the battery ran out during the night and no alarm clock rang,” the American was horrified to discover.
“Did you do anything with Travis last night? “
Thereupon he had raced to the training ground as quickly as possible, but had nevertheless arrived too late and been cited to the office. To his surprise, the first question there was, “Did you do anything with Travis last night?” The 27-year-old, however, replied in the negative.
Travis Kelce also showed up late to the meeting point after the evening of partying, but at least arrived a little earlier than Patrick Mahomes. The tight end was also questioned, “Did you do anything with Pat last night? Where is he?” Inwardly, Kelce then thought to himself, “Yeah damn! I’m not the only one!”
Mahomes concluded, “Since then we’ve been on the same wavelength and got to know each other better.” The duo now form the offensive pillar for the Kansas City Chiefs and have become indispensable there.
